Manchester United are close to finalizing the appointments of Van Nistelrooy and Hake, with official documents now being prepared . Both Hake and Van Nistelrooy are well-known to Ten Hag and would be popular recruitments given their first team managerial pedigree in recent seasons .
Erik ten Hag will also sign a new deal: Italian reporter Romano also confirms that ten Hag will sign a new contract, and they are now pushing to have the right people in place in the dugout to steer the club in the right direction .
Van Nistelrooy’s Coaching Career: Van Nistelrooy has been biding his time waiting for the right opportunity to come up since resigning as PSV Eindhoven coach with one match of the 2022-23 Eredivisie season remaining, citing a lack of support . Since retiring, Van Nistelrooy has spent most of his time working his way through the ranks as a coach for PSV Eindhoven, managing three of the youth teams before taking charge of the senior squad .
Hake’s Managerial Career: Hake is a coach who won’t be as well-known by the supporters in Manchester, but he has plenty of experience in the game . The 52-year-old has managed FC Utrecht, Go Ahead Eagles, SC Cambuur and FC Emmen at senior level . Hake has been likened to the Man United boss due to his penchant for a style of football which requires every player to be involved in both the attacking and the defensive side of the game .
