Bulldogs gain backing for a $50 million “Centre of Excellence” in Belmore

A local advocate for community initiatives has hailed a groundbreaking multimillion-dollar proposal for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs’ combined training and administrative facility as a pivotal development for the future of rugby league in southwest Sydney.

The envisioned $50 million ‘Centre of Excellence’ initiative aims to modernize the Bulldogs’ current headquarters situated within the Belmore Oval Sports Complex at 3B Edison Lane in Belmore.

During a recent council session, all Canterbury-Bankstown council members unanimously endorsed the plan and tentatively agreed to a new extended leasing arrangement with the Bulldogs.

As reported by The Daily Telegraph, city planners argue that there exists a “mutual advantage” in the council’s approval of the site, as the club could establish new youth rugby league teams within a customized sports center.
