The Seattle Seahawks are set to host the Denver Broncos on Sunday as the two former AFC West rivals clash in the Pacific Northwest.
Seattle heads into this game with clear playoff aspirations in the NFC. It’s going to be tough with the likes of the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams in its division.
Geno Smith returns under center for a third full season as the Seahawks’ starting quarterback. Mike Macdonald replaces long-time head coach Pete Carroll, changing things big time.
Denver is in a much different situation. Sean Payton’s first season as its head coach did not go according to plan. The Broncos finished under .500. Drama was the name of the game. They moved off future Hall of Fame and former Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson after just two seasons.
Rookie first round pick Bo Nix earned the starting quarterback gig over Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson. There is a lot going on here.
