Gordon Strachan has backed his old club Coventry City to get into the play-offs this season while praising Frank Lampard’s resilience after his last two spells in management didn’t go as well as he would have wanted.
The former Sky Blues boss – who still has a strong family connection to the club – believes that fifth-placed Sky Blues are more than equipped to keep their placed in the top six when the season draws to its conclusion.
Speaking to Makthevare, Strachan stated: “Absolutely, Coventry are on a real run. They’re on the run. They’ve got a good squad and they can definitely be in the playoffs. There’s no doubt about that.”
And the 68-year-old, who had a five year spell in charge at Highfield Road from 1996-2001, says it’s nice to see Frank Lampard get the rewards for his hard work, and decision to jump back into the managerial hotseat with Coventry.
