Ian Holloway is expecting his summer recruitment at Swindon Town to be an easier job than the one he had in the January transfer window.
Entering his second transfer window as Swindon boss, Holloway will be looking to add to the group which has picked up the fifth-most points in League Two during 2025.
The 62-year-old said that he is excited to get started on recruitment with all of the possibilities which are open to him.
He said: “It is not just here, I am looking worldwide.
“There are going to be hundreds of thousands of footballers becoming out of contract, and an awful lot of them might want to come and play for us.
“With how well we finished the season, how well we are doing, the size of our club, what we represent in the West Country.
“Everything is a lot rosier than it was when I first walked in the door, trying to attract people in that first window when we were losing and not doing so well was not easy.
“Now, trying to keep my players might be more difficult than it would have been, but it is about where we go in the future, and I am very confident.
“I have got my staff sorted out and I know where I want to go and I know what I want to add to build us and I know how we are going to do that.
“I can’t wait to just get on with it and get it started – but you have to take your time and make sure that you get everything right.”
Holloway added that these decisions would be crucial to his success as Swindon boss, but he believes his relationships with those at the club will help him succeed.
He said: “If I can get 75 per cent of my decisions right, then I might have a chance of having some longevity here.
“I might have a three-year deal, but that might not last if I do not do very well, and that is the deal that I have done with the chairman because I liked our last deal when I had a six-month deal.
“Now he has given me a three-year deal, but there is a clause where he can bin me if I am no good, which I insisted on totally and utterly, and so did he.
“It is about relationships, and I would not be here if I did not have such a good relationship with the chairman.”
