FC Halifax Town have confirmed the signing of highly-rated young defender Jevon Mills, bolstering their defensive options ahead of the new campaign.
The 21-year-old centre-back, who has been capped at youth level for the Republic of Ireland, brings valuable experience despite his young age. Mills has already tested himself in the National League during loan spells with Solihull Moors and Gateshead, where he impressed with his composure on the ball and strong aerial ability.
In addition to his time in England, the promising defender has also gained valuable playing experience north of the border with Scottish side Falkirk, as well as a stint in Ireland with Bohemians, giving him a well-rounded football education.
Mills progressed through the youth academy at Hull City, developing his skills in the club’s highly competitive setup. He made one senior appearance for The Tigers before parting ways with the Championship side earlier this summer, seeking regular first-team football to continue his development.
Speaking about the move, club officials at Halifax expressed confidence that Mills’ versatility and determination will add depth and competition to the squad as they aim for a strong season in the National League.
