Castleford Tigers’ new head coach Ryan Carr has wasted no time in reaching out to supporters, penning an emotional open letter as he prepares to officially begin his tenure in October.
Carr, 37, arrives with experience across both the UK and Australia and is tasked with reviving a Tigers side that has endured several difficult seasons. With expectations mounting, Carr has made it clear that connecting with the fans will be central to his mission.
“This club belongs to its supporters, and my first step is to build that bond,” Carr said ahead of his arrival. “I believe our unity with the fans will help bring Castleford Tigers back to where it should be.”
In his letter, Carr struck an inspiring and heartfelt tone:
Dear Castleford Tigers Supporters,
I am truly honored to join this great club as Head Coach. Castleford Tigers is built on passion, resilience, and a community that lives and breathes rugby league, and I feel privileged to be part of it.
I promise to give everything for this badge and for you, the loyal fans who make this club so special. The road ahead will have challenges, but with hard work, unity, and your voices behind us, I believe we can achieve great things together.
Your support will be our strength, and I’ll need you with us every step of the way. This journey belongs to all of us, and with belief and determination, we can create something special.
Thank you for welcoming me into the Tigers family. I can’t wait to make you proud.
Ryan Carr
