In the wake of former Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs star Josh Addo-Carr claiming that leaving the club was the “best decision” of his career, current Bulldogs star Stephen Crichton has hit back with a pointed response.
Addo-Carr, who departed the Bulldogs at the end of 2024 and joined Parramatta for the 2025 season, recently reflected on his move in an interview, admitting that leaving the club allowed him to achieve many of his personal goals and rekindle his career. While his comments were largely framed as a personal reflection, they did not sit well with his former teammates.
Speaking to media this week, Crichton expressed his disappointment, describing Addo-Carr’s remarks as “childish” and unnecessary.
> “I’ve seen the interview, and honestly, I think it’s a bit childish to make comments like that,” Crichton said.
“The Bulldogs are a big club, and we’ve helped plenty of players achieve their dreams. We’re proud to represent this team and what it stands for. People can say what they want, but sometimes it’s better to just shut up.”
Crichton’s comments underline the pride many current Bulldogs players feel in their club, emphasizing the team’s history of nurturing talent and providing opportunities for players to shine at the highest levels.
