Braves Stun Fans by Signing Matt Olson’s Famous Ex-Teammate!
A group of Oakland Braves players is convening in Atlanta. FanSided’s Robert Murray reported on Wednesday that the Braves have signed veteran outfielder Ramon Laureano. Laureano has signed a minor-league contract and will begin his career at Triple-A Gwinnett.
The 29-year-old right-handed Laureano was recently released by the Cleveland Guardians after spending parts of the previous two seasons with them. But he is well renowned for his time with the Oaland Athletics from 2018 to 23. Laureano, who played alongside current Braves slugger Matt Olson in Oakland, had his finest career season in 2019, hitting.288 with 24 home runs and 67 RBIs. He is also famous for instigating one of the more violent MLB brawls in recent years.
Laureano, who has experience in both centre and right field, could potentially join the Braves’ MLB roster after Ronald Acuña Jr. suffered a season-ending ACL tear. Coincidentally, they were just linked to a current Oakland player as a potential trade partner.
August 23, 2021; Atlanta, Georgia, USA: New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge (99) sprints to first base after hitting a single against the Atlanta Braves in the eighth inning at Truist Park. Mandatory Credit: Jason Getz/USA TODAY Sports Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees showed San Francisco Giants fans what they’ve been missing out on. Judge and the Yankees swept the Giants over the weekend in a three-game series at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California.
Judge was the one with the biggest broom. He had multiple hits in every game of the series. He also hit three home runs in the first two games, inspiring numerous Yankees supporters to rekindle a meme that Giants fans will likely recall.
Judge’s home run output in his first three career games at Oracle Park tied Thairo Estrada and Mike Yastrzemski for the most dingers in the stadium in 2024. The difference? The other two are Giants who have each had around a hundred at-bats at the venue this season.
Judge has been on an MVP trajectory this season. Judge has a 1.075 OPS after hitting.288/.417/.658 in 61 games. He currently leads the majors in home runs (21), walks (48), slugging percentage (.658), and OPS (1.075). It’s crazy to think Arson Judge almost signed with the Giants two offseasons ago.
In the first inning of the New York Mets’ 5-4 loss to Arizona on Sunday, a home run ball struck a woman in the head. When Ketel Marte hit a leadoff bomb, the woman was beyond the wall in left centre field. She appeared to be in position to make the catch, but the ball passed through her hands and appeared to strike her in the forehead.
There was no word on the woman’s status. Arizona’s TV broadcast showed a brief glimpse of her holding her forehead, though it wasn’t clear if that was out of embarrassment, an actual injury, or perhaps both.
The good news for this lady is that the ball was coming down and not a line drive from close range. Furthermore, she had her gaze fixed on it, so it did not take her by surprise. Hopefully she is fine, and if she is, she may be able to receive recognition for her injuries.
