Dolphins agree to two-year deal with Washington Defensive Back

The Miami Dolphins, following the release of Xavien Howard, are bolstering their defensive lineup by acquiring another free-agent cornerback.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Dolphins have reached an agreement with Kendall Fuller on a two-year contract, with the deal reportedly valued at $16.5 million.

Fuller, aged 29, has predominantly played for the Washington Football Team. Initially drafted in the third round in 2016, he spent his initial two seasons with Washington before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs as part of the Alex Smith deal in early 2018.

Having contributed to the Chiefs’ victory in Super Bowl LIV in 2019, Fuller subsequently returned to Washington in 2020, signing a four-year deal and remaining with the team for the past four seasons.

Fuller has showcased his defensive prowess across 117 career games, including 93 starts, with 75 passes defensed and 16 interceptions. His performance in 2023 notably included nine passes defensed, two interceptions, and two fumble recoveries.

Now, Fuller, ranked No. 21 among PFT’s top 100 free agents, is slated to assume a starting role alongside defensive back Jalen Ramsey in the Miami Dolphins’ secondary unit.
