Seattle Seahawks signs former Cowboys DT to tightens up Defensive line.

On Wednesday, the Seattle Seahawks bolstered their defensive lineup with the signings of Johnathan Hankins, a seasoned defensive tackle, and K’Von Webster, a skilled safety.

At 31 years old, Hankins brings a wealth of experience to the Seahawks. Having previously played under the guidance of their new defensive coordinator, Aden Durde, during his tenure with the Dallas Cowboys, Hankins has showcased his prowess across an impressive 11-year NFL career. Originally drafted in the second round by the New York Giants in 2013, he has since showcased his talent with stints at various teams, including the Indianapolis Colts and the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders. In his most recent season with the Cowboys, Hankins demonstrated his effectiveness by starting in all 14 games he played, amassing 27 tackles, 3.0 sacks, and contributing two passes defended.

Hankins’ arrival bolsters an already formidable Seahawks defensive line, providing additional depth alongside established players such as Leonard Williams, Jarran Reed, and Dre’Mont Jones, as well as promising newcomers like Cameron Young and Mike Morris.

Meanwhile, Webster, at 26 years old, brings youthful energy and versatility to the Seahawks’ secondary. His previous season with the Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans saw him notch 89 tackles, an interception, and six passes defended across 17 games, 12 of which he started. Originally drafted in the fourth round by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020, Webster transitioned from a primarily special teams role to a starting position last season, showcasing his adaptability and potential for growth.

In joining the Seahawks, Webster expressed enthusiasm for the defensive scheme orchestrated by Mike Macdonald, citing its effectiveness in maximizing players’ abilities. He aims to contribute meaningfully to the team’s success while thriving within this system, highlighting his confidence in its suitability to his skill set.
