While Notre Dame football’s win over Boise State didn’t light up a scoreboard, there were more than a few players who performed at a high level.
One stood out above the rest according to Pro Football Focus, cornerback Leonard Moore. This isn’t at all surprising, considering he picked off two passes and had six tackles against the Broncos. While he wasn’t named the Defensive Player of the Week, than honor went to Texas Tech’s David Bailey, it was still a welcome return to the field for Moore.
He missed the last two games with an ankle injury and didn’t miss a beat. After having some bad luck seeing star members of the secondary being lost in the middle of seasons, see Benjamin Morrison and Kyle Hamilton, Moore returning to the lineup was a huge boost to the Notre Dame defense.
Moore could be in line for more national recognition this fall, after a very impressive freshman season.
