Speaking in an interview earlier today, Ashley made a statement that has reignited fury among the Hillsborough faithful, implying that the Owls may not actually be available for purchase.
“We are interested in buying, but only if the club is open for sale — which, for now, we don’t feel most of the top clubs are,” Ashley said.
He went further to outline his vision for a long-term football project, adding: “We are still looking to start a project that will be sustainable, but only when the club truly wants to sell.”
These remarks have angered Sheffield Wednesday supporters, who believed that Chansiri was finally preparing to part ways with the club after months of financial turmoil, wage delays, and growing pressure from both fans and regulatory authorities.
On social media, furious fans vented their disappointment, accusing Chansiri of sending mixed messages. One supporter posted:
