Bradford Bulls have secured the services of Castleford Tigers man Luke Hooley until the end of the season. Hooley has spent most of the season so far on loan with the Bulls and that loan has now been extended for the rest of the 2025 season.
Hooley has struggled for game time at Castleford since joining from Leeds Rhinos ahead of the 2024 campaign, making just 11 appearances for the club. As such, he was allowed to join the Bulls on a short-term loan earlier in the season with the hope being that he can pick up game time and impress.
Impress he has done, with Hooley making seven appearances and scoring two tries prior to this weekend’s performance against Batley Bulldogs. He had a starring role to play in Bradford’s 48-12 win over the Bulldogs, too.
With the loan giving him a degree of security surrounding game time for the rest of the season, he’ll hope to continue impressing as the Bulls strive to get their hands on silverware this season.
Luke doesn’t lack confidence because he’s a super player, who probably initially just needed to remind himself of how good he is,” Bulls head coach Brian Noble said, per the Telegraph and Argus.
“Thankfully we’ve got his services until the end of the year and he’s enjoying it here.
“Playing with a smile on your face is very important and we’re trying to coach Luke as well as we can.
“He’s doing a fantastic job and that’s the pleasing side of things from our point of view.”
Hooley is off-contract at The Jungle this season and he’ll hope that a strong showing over the rest of the season in the Championship can lead to a new deal, either at Castleford, Bradford or elsewhere.
