Chelsea have reportedly agreed to a £54 million deal for Wolves forward Pedro Neto, a transfer that has rapidly gained momentum with minimal prior discussions, according to multiple sources.
The 24-year-old Pedro Neto, who battled long-term injuries last season but was still considered Wolves’ best player, is now on the verge of joining Chelsea. Neto was also part of Portugal’s European Championship squad in Germany. He is set to undergo a medical before finalizing the move, which will make him Enzo Maresca’s latest addition to the squad as Chelsea continue their aggressive spending ahead of the new Premier League season.
Pedro Neto’s arrival further exemplifies the chaotic spending spree by Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly, who has invested over £1 billion in new players since taking over the club two years ago. Chelsea had two bids for Neto initially rejected, despite the winger scoring only three goals in 24 appearances for Wolves last season.
