FC Halifax Town has secured the loan signing of Dubem Eze from Bolton Wanderers, and it hasn’t taken long for the young midfielder to feel at home. Just days after joining The Shaymen, Eze has expressed his desire to make the move permanent, citing the club’s welcoming atmosphere and his eagerness to settle down at this stage of his career.
“From day one, everyone has welcomed me with open arms, and I already feel at home. I would love to stay here permanently,” Eze revealed. “I know that’s down to how well I perform, but at this point in my career, I need to settle and build in a place, and I find this club exciting.”
With his impressive technical ability and versatility in midfield, Eze could prove to be a crucial addition to Halifax’s push for success in the Vanarama National League.
Eze’s footballing journey has taken him through some of England’s most renowned youth setups. Starting his career at Chelsea’s youth academy, he later joined Derby County’s U18s in 2021. His next move saw him sign with Norwich City’s U18 squad in 2022, where he continued his development.
In March 2024, Eze gained his first taste of senior football when he joined Warrington Town in the National League North on loan for the remainder of the season. During his spell, he made six appearances and scored twice, showing glimpses of his attacking potential as Warrington finished 12th in the league.
After being released by Norwich in the summer of 2024, Eze was quickly snapped up by Bolton Wanderers following a successful trial, joining their B team. This season, he has continued his rise through the English football pyramid, enjoying a solid loan spell at Chorley in the National League North, where he made 24 appearances, scoring three goals before his move to Halifax.
FC Halifax Town acted swiftly to bring in Eze, cutting short his Chorley loan to secure his services for the rest of the season. The club sees him as a player who can bring creativity, energy, and goal-scoring potential to their midfield.
“Dubem is a player we’ve been tracking for some time. He has great energy, technical ability, and an eye for goal,” said a Halifax Town representative. “We believe he can make a big impact in the remainder of the season.”
For Eze, the move presents an opportunity to showcase his abilities at a club where he feels valued. At just 20 years old, he is still in the early stages of his career, but his ambition and drive are clear.
Eze’s early declaration of wanting to stay at Halifax has been warmly received by the Shaymen faithful. Many fans have taken to social media to express their excitement about the midfielder’s arrival and his commitment to the club.
