When asked about trade rumours regarding star forward Brady Tkachuk, Ottawa Senators General Manager and President of Hockey Operations Steve Staios responded: “Complete B.S.” Tkachuk’s name surfaced on social media as a trade target over the weekend, and the speculation grew for unclear reasons. Pierre LeBrun wrote in a recent story for The Athletic, “Just to be clear, the Ottawa Senators have zero intention of trading their star captain.” He talked with Staios, who dismissed the rumours as baseless and stated, “We are creating this squad around Brady. His leadership and particular skill set are uncommon. He continued, “There is absolutely no validity to it.”
This is not the first time trade rumours about Tkachuk have surfaced. Staios repeated himself twice. Fans should not trust everything they hear, the Senators are not eager to move forward, and Tkachuk has not requested to be sold.
