Breaking News: Tottenham Hotspur Leads Pursuit of ‘Big-Name’ Striker Post Ivan Toney Reports – Expert Opinion

Former Spurs defender Alan Hutton told Football Insider that Ferguson would not make an immediate impact, but would instead grow and develop under Ange Postecoglou.

Instead, he suggested the club spend “big money” on an experienced, high-profile forward like Toney, 28, who could take the team to the next level.

According to Football Insider sources, Tottenham are currently leading the battle to recruit the Brentford player ahead of West Ham, as they plan to buy a headline striker this summer. Following Harry Kane’s departure, Postecoglou’s team has been without a natural striker, with Richarlison struggling to impress and Son Heung-min preferred on the left wing. Brighton’s Evan Ferguson, 19, has emerged as a potential new number nine, but he will need time to adjust to the level and expectations of being a first-choice forward at Spurs.

Hutton claimed that a ready-made striker would be a game changer for Tottenham, but any deal will be determined by Postecoglou and Daniel Levy’s preferences.

When looking for attackers, do you want someone who is ready to play and will have an immediate impact on your team? “You would have to pay for it. You’d be talking about Toney and these kinds of individuals; that’s a lot of money. “Or someone like Evan Ferguson, he’s got the talent, he can score goals, and he’s only going to get better; he’s young and eager to learn. “There’s a lot of good that comes with it, but will he come in, play week after week, and get the goals you require?

Ferguson is capable of competing, but he is still young, inexperienced, and need improvement. “I think, if they got that big-hitter and big name at this moment in time, Toney would be incredible, it would really elevate them to that next level.” In other developments, Daniel Levy may put out all the stops to sign Eberechi Eze.
