Arne Slot issues intriguing Caoimhin Kelleher verdict amid £25m Nottingham Forest interest
Nottingham Forest are interested in a number of players before the transfer window closes later today.
One player who has been linked with a move to Forest is Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher – who is a long-term target of the Reds.
The goalkeeper is 25-years-old now and he will be desperate to play first-team football on a regular basis.
Right now, he’s behind Alisson in the pecking order, with the club also adding Giorgi Mamardashvili who will sign from Valencia next summer.
Arne Slot has been delivering his press conference ahead of this weekend’s game against Manchester United and he’s been quizzed on Kelleher.

It’s fair to say that Slot has delivered a somewhat contradictory claim on his substitute goalkeeper this morning.
When quizzed about the goalkeepers directly, the Dutchman claimed he was happy with his current options.
He told Sky Sports: “Maybe, but we have to make decisions as well, it’s not just the player.
“If you work at a club like Liverpool, you need a lot of competition and a lot of good players. As I said, Mamardashvili is one for the future and we’re really happy with the goalkeeper we have at the moment.
“Caoimhin is one of them, so we’re in a good place when it comes to goalkeepers both now and in the future.”
“If it’s the right opportunity for the player and the club we will act and if that opportunity comes for the both of us it will happen.”
That all sounds quite conclusive but then when asked about potential outgoings today, he didn’t exactly rule things out.

Forest could get future star with Kelleher signing
Although Matz Sels has done little wrong at Forest, he’s 32-years-old and is hardly one for the future.
Kelleher kept goal with aplomb at Liverpool last season starring in the Carabao Cup final victory against Chelsea.
At 25, he could essentially arrive at Forest, instantly grab the gloves and keep them for several years under Nuno Espirito Santo.
