Everton have had a remarkable summer transfer window, aiming to distance themselves from the Premier League relegation zone for the 2024/25 season. Sean Dyche has secured five new signings, bolstering key positions with players like defender Jake O’Brien and forward Iliman Ndiaye. However, the club is still seeking further improvements before the transfer deadline on August 30th, with several targets in mind.
One such target is Leeds United’s Wilfried Gnonto, a £25m-rated attacker linked with Everton for the past three transfer windows. Despite having a £23m bid rejected, Everton are expected to submit a second offer, with Leeds holding out for around £25m. Gnonto, described as a “nightmare” by talent scout Jacek Kulig, registered ten goals or assists last season and averaged 2.6 shots per 90 minutes and 1.5 successful take-ons, making him a potential game-changer for Everton.
In addition to Gnonto, Dyche is also targeting Reims midfielder Amir Richardson to fill the void left by Amadou Onana’s departure to Aston Villa. Richardson, who impressed in Ligue 1 with 4.8 progressive passes and 1.9 progressive carries per game, could form an excellent partnership with Gnonto. This duo could significantly enhance Everton’s offensive capabilities, helping them to achieve a comfortable mid-table finish this season.
