Canterbury-Bankstown’s hopes were dashed when their star winger, Josh Addo-Carr, sustained a shoulder injury, forcing him out of the game at halftime. This left fans disappointed, especially considering the anticipation surrounding the Bulldogs’ new left-edge combination featuring Addo-Carr alongside NSW Origin player Stephen Crichton.

Meanwhile, the Eels’ halfback, Mitch Moses, battled through a groin injury for the majority of the game, casting doubt on his availability for Round 2.
