Miami Dolphins on the verge of finalizing a deal with Defensive Back

Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dolphins in 2019, Nik Needham faced a setback at the beginning of the 2023 season due to a torn Achilles tendon. Despite returning to the team midway through the season, he did not secure a starting position. In the 2023 season, he participated in only 10 games, accumulating a mere 71 defensive snaps along with 31 snaps on special teams, as documented by Pro Football Reference.

Throughout his tenure in the National Football League, Needham’s defensive playing time has progressively decreased, with his peak in defensive snaps occurring during his rookie year in 2019.

His most noteworthy performance was in 2021, where he featured in all 17 regular season games for the Dolphins. During this season, he garnered two interceptions and held opposing quarterbacks to a modest 73.4 passer rating while in coverage.
