Surprise Move: Sean Murphy Takes Sixth Spot in Braves’ Lineup for Clash Against Rays!
The Atlanta Braves return to Truist Park Friday night to begin a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays. Atlanta will start Chris Sale, while Tampa Bay will opt with right-hander Zack Littell. There are no shocks in the Braves’ lineup on Friday. Michael Harris is back in the leadoff position. Sean Murphy will catch Chris Sale and bat sixth. This will be Littell’s first career start against Atlanta. He has nine career bullpen appearances and a 6.43 ERA. All of those appearances occurred before joining the Rays.
Yandy Diaz begins off for the Rays and plays first base. Diaz has a 6-for-16 career record against Chris Sale, with two doubles and a triple. Randy Arozarena bats second, going 2-for-10 with a homer and five strikeouts against Atlanta’s lefty. Alex Jackson, a former Braves catcher, will be behind the plate, hitting ninth.
The first pitch from Truist Park is planned for 7:20 p.m. ET and can be seen on Bally Sports South-east.
